Beyond THE FUTURE: My Mixed-Race Family

All the work I’ve done over the past few months on ImagineAGreatElection.com has certainly been gratifying, but I’m most proud of the essay that’s posted on it called My Mixed-Race Family. Give it a read for a little insight into the impact of the Obama election from an increasingly not-so-atypical American family’s point-of-view.

(Fuzzy) photo of our very own Lady Liberty with Eddy. The photo’s fuzzy because we were all giggling along with her. :)

Simply beautiful, Karen. I thought I was finished with all my post-election tears (good ones!) until I read your essay. :-)

Hola, Tigre! How fun to receive a note from Argentina, one of my husband's favorite places. Sorry I can't respond in Spanish! Your blog will be a good place for my son to visit as he studies Spanish in high school. He can translate for me! K.

Well said, Debra! I can't help but smile at the thought of the Obamas visiting the White House today. As Tigre puts it, "jajajaj!!!" :)

Niksmom, I can't believe how long I've been away from so many of my favorite blogs. Hugs to you and Nik and the rest of your wonderful family. And yes, I know about the tears. Tears of hope and happiness and so much anticipation of good things to come. Yes, there'll be ups and downs, but it helps so much to know at least we're finally headed in the right direction! K.
