I wrote about Claudia Janiszewski and the remarkable organization she founded, OSAAB (Organization for the Support of Albania’s Abandoned Babies) on Valentine’s Day 2007. And while I’ve yet to meet her, I’ve learned more about her and viewed some of her photos on Facebook, photos that reveal her to have a heart as joyous and fun-loving as it is extraordinarily generous.
With the loss of her husband of 19 years this week, though, Claudia must feel as though her heart is breaking. So I thought the least I could do was to remind folks about the immense difference Claudia—and her husband, Henry—have made in the lives of countless women and children in Albania. Read my OSAAB post, visit the OSAAB site, donate if you can, or simply leave a comment of condolences here and I’ll be happy to pass it along. If what goes around truly does come around, Claudia deserves a mountain of goodness delivered to her door every day of her life. All she probably wants right now, though, is her husband by her side. Hugs from Denver, Claudia. K.
