After watching all the major speeches this week, I felt excited, hopeful and invigorated and wondered to myself how anyone could envision anything different for the future of this country.

And I had to remind myself that I'm fortunate to be insulated in a world of writers, people who think broadly and deeply about things and that there are millions of people who don't do that at all.
